We have owned TechnoRv for about 3 weeks and what a learning experience. We find ourselves up most nights until midnight working with the operations of the business. This is just the learning curve and it will not be like this forever, but for now, it is pretty intense. We are learning all of the products, while taking internet order, sales calls, support calls, and the occasional 5 minute break to take a deep breath. The customers are awesome to help. Most are in need of some kind of technical support, and then some just want to talk about the products they have bought, and there seems to be no question at all, which is fine with us. I dealt with my first unhappy customer today. Wow, we really messed his order up. The past owner was handling his order and when I took over it was never completed,ugh.. I think I will send him a gift for his patience.
We have been invited to speak at several RV rallies later this year, and I will be writing technical articles for a RV magazine soon. What a change for our life. Towards the end of the year we will begin to travel the US in our RV and meet all of the great customers we have. For now, we are bouncing around the local area of Mobile, AL enjoying Mobile Bay, the beach and currently we are nestled on 100 acres with a private swimming pool. RV life is good.
All of our kids were in town this week and we had a great time with them eating crawfish, playing guitar (Ryley is awesome), swimming, and eating at some really cool places.
Next week we are traveling to the northeast to Philadelphia, New York City, Cape Cod, Nantucket, and Boston. I will be walking the stage at Villanova to receive my Masters Degree in Human Resources. Boy am I glad that is over. If I had to write another 20 page paper on employee benefits I was going to hang it up, but somehow I made it.
