Water Pressure in the RV

So going full-time in a RV certainly has a learning curve. There are some immediate things that you notice and then some will come with time, I am sure. One of the first things I noticed was the water pressure in the shower. I could literally spit harder than the water was falling out of the shower head. I try to get advice from a RV group I am a member of, and then I learn on my own a great deal as well.

When I got the RV, the dealership was clear that I needed to make sure that I regulated the water pressure coming into the camper. You never know what kind of pressure you will be getting from place to place. If the pressure is too high then you could blow out your water lines. I bought a 40 pound water pressure regulator, as recommended from the dealership. This was problem number one. I do agree that the water needs to be regulated, but 40 pounds is a bit ridiculous. I bought a pressure gauge and hooked it up to the water line and I was getting 90 pounds from the spigot. This is way to high, but 40 is too low. I bought another regulator that allows 55 pounds of pressure. This helped the shower pressure a great deal. If I want more pressure I can unscrew the shower head and there is a regulator in the shower head as well. It is a plastic piece with 3 small holes in it. I could easily drill the holes a bit bigger to get more pressure. For those that are looking for more more pressure in your RV, maybe this will help.
