Tami got Scuba Certified – Congratulations!

Tami got her scuba certification over the Christmas holidays, 2014. Tami started her certification over a year and a half ago, and had some issues along the way. Tami had some underwater anxiety issues that delayed the process, and then got a few sinus infections along the way too. During one training session Tami got water in her mask and wanted to go up, but the instructor held her down. This really freaked Tami out and delayed the process several month. The instructor was just doing his job and they teach you that you can’t just go up when you have minor problems because of decompression issues. This moment traumatized Tami a bit, but after a few months off, she forged forward. Tami finished the classes, and took the final written test many months ago. There are 4 dives that you have to do to prove your skills, and Tami had already done 3 of the dives many months ago. So a week before Christmas, Tami, myself and Ryley went to Morrison Springs in Florida with the instructor, Harvey, and did her final certification dive. The day was overcast, and 55 degrees outside, so it was not ideal conditions, but Tami did a great job and is now certified to dive to 60 ft. Tami said this was one of the hardest things she has done and I am very proud of her. Diving did not come natural to Tami as it does for a lot of people, but Tami wanted to do it and she pushed through the uncomfortable moments and got her certification. I feel very comfortable with Tami as my dive partner, she is doing great! Congratulations Tami!!
